MariaElena R. Favis is the driving force behind The Royal Sapphire Stud Farm . The foundation stock are a Thoroughbred stallion and Thoroughbred mares from the racing stable of Don Asterio G. Favis. Maria acquired an Anglo-Arab stallion in 1995 and a Quarterhorse Paint stallion in 1998. By selectively crossing these lines and raising the offspring with a gentle touch, she has bred horses that are perfect riding companions and at the same time have the ability to perform. These horses have figured prominently in Masbate's Rodeo Filipino, an annual event., in steer wrestling, calf roping, barrel racing and pole bending.
